Alternate start - live another life not working
Using Vortex fixed it. I guess Vortex will be the Mod Manager for Skyrim in GOG for now. I read the news from Nexus, but I thought it should also work in MO2, obviously I thought wrong. Maybe Vortex is using some tricks to make mods work in GOG. It didn't work for me with Vortex either :- (.Alternate Start - Live Another Life - ONLY works if you follow these steps: Make sure original opening scene.esp is UNCHECKED, Open the game with LAL, wait for mods to configure, then save it. Close the game, activate this mod and reload that save you just made. Choose the vanilla start.I use {{Alternate Perspective - Additions with Mysticism}} which adds shrines and tiny birthstones to the starting hotel room so you can further customize character creation. Also mysticism starting spells. I also use {{New Beginnings - Alternate Perspective Extension}} which adds more start options I think originally were made for Alternate Start.

Make sure it's the last thing in your load order also, so it loads over all other mods (except, I've found, FPS fixing mods, they won't work if they're not last). The previous character playthrough I did, it was with Alternate Start and I too chose the Whiterun beginning and owning Breezehome. I felt it fit in with my character who was going to dominate the land with his accomplishments and he was a typical Nord, so I felt Whiterun was the most appropriate.Posted April 26, 2023.
