Now, leveling as Mystic Knight will make your build suitable for Magick based damage even though it looks like it's, more or less, a split. Be aware of this. So. leveling a bit as Sorcerer will actually improve your vocation performance. With this approach you can even use staff if you wish. But.The Mystic Knight, as far as i understand it (i mostly play Strider or Fighter), is a tank. I mean you have access to armor that even the Fighter can't equip. And since this isn't an MMO, you usually have to buff yourself to deal any significant damage to a strong enemy.

You'll find that your skills are slow, and your strategies are not easily set up; As a Ranger with skills like tenfold flurry, your Pawn becomes the interim damage dealer from a safe enough distance to avoid taking on serious injuries, distracting and drawing enemies (with good damage) while you set up your strategies.
