Just stop what you're going and just go to work and see HR in person :) put in the special request, and more times than it they will just forgive and give you the 3 hours of upt without actually using your vacation as a one time courtesy, however you need to go out of your way to see HR in person for this, otherwise they are less likely to do this if they are just replying to a case message ...If you don't ever miss work you can leverage upt every week and keep your PTO also. Most PAs and long term employees do this. You can max out at 80 hours of UPT. Eventually if you never miss you'll need to utilize your UPT as well.
