I believe you have diagnosed the problem already. Your fob is defective. If you've only used one for 4 years, now use the other that works. If you get 4 years out of that one, you may never have to buy a replacement. Also, as you stated, the original one you used still works, just not 100 %.Pull the cover and blue rubber piece out of the key fob. Press the top part of the battery and pull the battery out using a small flat screwdriver. Slide the new battery in and press it to set it into place. Line up the blue rubber piece and the cover back to the battery. Reinstall the four screws and turn them clockwise to tighten.
