May 27, 2015 · A couple of weeks ago I was on the Bud's Gunshop website and saw a listing for a 1" barrel Taurus model 85. I learned from this website that it was The View revolver with an aluminum side plate. Seeing that they were not listed on the Taurus website I ordered one fearing that they were discontinued already. I recieved the revolver last Thursday.I had the opportunity to compare the Taurus 85 with the Rossi 68 models. Both seem to be well made revolvers. There are some minor differences that I noticed: Rossi has a floating firing pin, while Taurus has transfer bar. Rossi weights a bit more that Taurus - barrel seems to be thicker, as well as cylinder walls.…
