Kirkland Signature 12 Blended Scotch Whisky - Review #8 . This is the very first blended whisky that I've posted as a review. I've tasted a good few in my time and have found a couple that I've enjoyed and a couple that I wouldn't put in my mouth again.Overall, the aroma lacks depth and complexity. The first whiff of Kirkland Signature 24-Year Scotch Whisky is harsh with a "slight chemical, industrial, and metallic smell" that shouldn't be so obvious with an aged whisky, according to The Whisky Shelf. This scotch whisky also has a thinner mouthfeel and is quite astringent upon first taste.

I just know that our Costco has one Kirkland scotch at 23 dollars and one at like 53 dollars. For 1.75 liters. I'm a big fan of the 53 dollar version and consider it my "house scotch". The label only tells us that it's matured in oak casks and 100 proof. It doesn't have an age, mention chill filtration, or color. My assumption going in is this is a young Caol Ila based on which Islay distilleries usually provide a lot of casks for IBs.Bottled: 2020. Cask type: Sherry Cask Finish. Bottled for: Costco. Abv: 46%. Colour: 5YR 5/10. Nose: Plum, nutty, melon, brine, coffee. Sherry notes are obvious here: Nuttiness, fruit, some earth.
