Jan 27, 2014 · 882 or 193 Heads. I have a 350 sbc in a 1979 camaro with a close ratio 4 speed manual with 308 posi. The engine not quite sure on the cam size but it has 882 heads, performer intake, 1" carb spacer and i have either a holley 600 or carter AFB, long tube headers with true duals only 2.25" exhaust.882's are an OK performance head, most SBC head castings are not as good as the 882's performance, but there are several castings better than the 882's. An 882 casting is usually OK for unleaded gas. The 882's are easy to crack. The 882's have two exhaust valves that flow hot exhaust gases into the intake manifold cross over.

I would think that combo would be an absolute turd. .030" over 302 with 5cc flat top piston and a 0.035" quench has a whopping 8.03:1 compression ratio with a 76cc head.
